Lucent Bio-Activation Station

Lucent Bio’s flagship technology – Soileos® – is a sustainable, non-polluting, micronutrient fertilizer created from upcycling pea, lentil, and oat hulls – co-products from food processing. This 5-acre project aims to study the effects of Soileos on crop yield, vigor and mineral uptake as compared to competitor and an untreated control. The goal is to show that it is possible to increase crop yields and improve crop nutrient density while sequestering carbon.

Application of Soileos to farm soils, promotes activity and growth of the native beneficial soil microorganisms. As these microbes break down Soileos minerals are released in a plant bioavailable form and nutrients remain throughout the crop growth cycle, a characteristic lacking in many existing micronutrient fertilizers.

Unlike conventional products, Soileos’s organic substrate means soil organic carbon levels are enhanced through its use. The net result is higher crop yields, improved crop nutrient density and healthier soils with higher carbon.
